Morning Ink has moved!

Hello! My site is now being self-hosted on WordPress.org at http://www.morningink.com

I am moving over all of my current subscribers, so if you receive updates from me, you will continue to see them this week. In the mean time, you can see my new post on the home page.

I’m so excited about having more power over my site, and I look forward to possibly collaborating with more of you in the future. WordPress.com introduced me to fabulous bloggers, whose friendship I wish to keep.

Wish me luck!

What a crazy week it’s been. Christmas was bittersweet due to the absence of my grandpa, and I am now relaxing and taking advantage of the amazing new camera my boyfriend gave me for Christmas.

It is a sunny 66 degrees in Houston today so I wore a dress with NO LEGGINGS. What.

Dress: Pacsun (similar here)
Cardigan: American Eagle
Shoes: Urban Outfitters
Purse: Rebecca Minkoff
Earrings: Aeropostale Bethany Mota Collection
Ring: Forever 21

This purse and I are inseparable. My mom gave it to me for Christmas and I think it’s perfect. I am a crossbody fanatic, and this one fits all my essentials. I want one in every color.

I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday. 2014 is around the corner. How will you be celebrating? My only wish for the new year is that my family gets a break from grief and that we have more blessings than sadness.

Have a restful Sunday and thank you for reading.

Mijita

My grandpa passed away this morning. It was very unexpected.

He was my last living grandparent, and definitely the sweetest. I will miss his whistle, his laugh, and how he always called me “mijita.”

He gave me this purple ring shortly after my grandma died, along with some of her old jewelry. I cherish every trinket and piece that has been passed down or given to me.

Death is never easy, especially around the holidays. I’m still processing this loss and I’m not sure what to say yet.

Hug your family and keep them close.
